Now is the time to be BRAVE

"It's 8 years since I delivered my first TEDx talk and I was reminded of this over the weekend when I received a lovely note from a young entrepreneur in Malaysia who thanked me for the advice I delivered on that day.

I particularly liked the fact that she described my talk as "my Braveheart speech" :)

‍

It was an emotional talk for me that I delivered at Edinburgh Napier University, Sighthill Campus, where I studied as an undergraduate and where I met my wife - she has never forgiven me for mentioning this fact in the talk!

‍

This note prompted me to re-watch the talk (it's never easy to watch yourself on screen) to understand if my views on the subject had changed.

‍

I'm delighted (and somewhat relieved) to report that I stand by everything I said.

‍

I'm also pleased to report that over these intervening years I have certainly followed my own advice and continue to try to operate outside my comfort zone.
