Hong Kong is quite rightly known for being a business-friendly cosmopolitan and the 'Hong Kong to Scotland' evening reception at Edinburgh Council City Chambers heard the many benefits and opportunities of doing business in this dynamic market.

Delegates heard from three knowledgeable and vibrant speakers:

- Gilford L., Director-General of Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office

- Daisy I., Director, UK, Nordics and Ireland at Hong Kong Trade Development Council

- Andrew Davis, Head of Investment Promotion at Invest Hong Kong.

Russell was especially delighted to attend this in-person gathering and re-connect with old friends...

"It's over thirty years since I first travelled to this most remarkable of locations in Asia. As a young man, I had no understanding of the deep roots laid down by Scots in this economic powerhouse. Of course, Hong Kong is today a very different location than it was when I first ventured east (you could still smoke on the plane then!) however those deep Scottish connections remain hence it was fitting to hear that tonight's event was the first gathering organised by our Hong Kong hosts outside of London since the pandemic ended for us in the UK (not yet in HK)." - Russell Dalgleish
