After speaking at the British Embassy in Dublin with ICAS -The Professional Body of CAs and The Scottish Government, Russell moved across the Irish sea the following morning to speak at a Polish Business Link (PBLink) event in the Polish Embassy, London.

The British Polish Business Lunch, on 28th April 2023, was held exclusively for established business owners and senior management to connect with influencers in the British-Polish business community.

PBLink was founded by Bart Kowalczyk to support diverse business entrepreneurs with their ambition of growing a business in the UK - outside of their homeland, with the support of the British Polish Chamber of Commerce (BPCC) as their patron.

“Bart is one of those driven entrepreneurs with a great desire to give back to their community, in Bart's case its fellow Poles based in the UK. But Bart is also an adopted Scot hence his involvement with SBN. I feel it's important to remember that we are all members of multiple communities, each with a different vision but through the world of business, we can combine our goals to hopefully generate new opportunities.” - Russell Dalgleish, Chair of Scottish Business Network

This high-level event began with an official opening from Andrzej Kazimierz Krezel, Head of the Economic Section of Polish Embassy. Guests also heard from Lina Bourdon, Chair of the Diversity Policy Unit at the Federation of Small Businesses, whom expressed deep gratitude to the Polish Community in their support for Ukraine.

The following guest panellists then spoke passionately to members on how the diaspora can impact business growth:

·      Russell Dalgleish – Founding Chair of SBN and Managing Partner of Exolta Capital Partners

·      Tomasz Soroka - Founder of Leaware

·      Martina Tararuj - Startup Consultant

·      Darryl Buchanan - Corporate Connections London

Russell spoke on the topic of mutual diaspora support.

Following the conference, the afternoon continued with informal networking as participants shared their opinions and suggestions in how the business community can support one another whilst also enjoying the traditional Polish dish - Pierogi.

“Russell empowered an audience of 100 people during his talk at British Polish Business Lunch at London (April 22). He provided practical insights on how diasporas can better work together to impact business growth. The feedback received from the audience: inspirational, fascinating panel of speakers and a lively debate. 5 out of 5 stars.” - Bart Kowalczyk, Founder & Director
